This is rough draft of the July 2019 itinerary.   Events, sights and tours subject to change based on availability and timing.   Prices are estimated and are intended to give an idea of basic costs.

Estimated price approximately $5748 for Barcelona, French Riviera, and Paris.   This price is PER PERSON staying 2 to a room.  Single room supplement is EXTRA.  The trip price includes flights, hotels, sightseeing, some entrances, full time tour director, city to city transfers and some dinners.  Price does not include insurance and optional excursions.

Day  1....Overnight flight to Barcelona

 

Day  2....Arrive Barcelona and Welcome Dinner

 

Day  3....Barcelona:  Discover why Barcelona is touted for its unparalleled architectural landmarks.
Step inside La Sagrada Familia, Guadi's famous masterwork-in-progress.   Drive along Passeig de Gracia, past Gaudi's "House of Bones", visit Montjuic, site of the 1992 Olympic Games, and Mirador de l'Alcalde Park. padd Placa d'Espanya and the soaring monument to Christopher Columbus.

Optional Excursion:  Park Guell & La Pedrera $85* (suggested)

Enjoy a free evening to explore Barcelona on your own

Day  4....Barcelona:  Excursion to Montserrat and wine tasting.  Optional evening Excursion to Flamenco Dinner Show *$115 with Go Ahead.   I suggest another option without dinner....less expensive.
 

Day  5....Barcelona to Aix-en-Provence via Figueres:  Travel to Figueres this morning and enter the Dali Theatre Museum and enjoy free time for lunch before traveling to Aix-en-Provence (Gather for an included dinner in Aix this evening)
 

Day  6....Aix-en-Provence:  Walking tour of Aix-en-Provence, visit Aix Cathedral and the studio of painter Paul Cezanne
Travel to the picturesque surrounding country side for a local guide, stroll through the charming Old Town,  step inside the Papal Palace before returning to Aix-en-Provence

Day  7....Nice via Cassis:   Transfer to the town of Cassis, cruise the city's famous calanques, or Mediterranean fjords.  Then continue on to Nice.  
 

Day  8....Sightseeing tour of Nice:   Discover the many charms of the city of  Nice on the French Riviera on a guided sightseeing tour.  /drive along the Promenade des Anglais.  Explore the Roman Amphitheater, wander around the gards of Franciscan Monastery in Cimiez, end your tour amongst the narrow streets and market stalls of the Old Town.  Optional Excursion:  Evening in Monaco $79 per person.   
 

Day  9....Nice:  Travel to Cannes where your tour director will introduce you to this historic Old Town port.  Enter the Castre Museum to walk through the castle of Cannes and enjoy stunning views of the Old Town and bay from its top.  Make your way to Saint de Vence a celebrity haven and one of the oldest villages on the French Riviera.  
 

Day 10...Transfer home or...

Extend to Paris:   Travel through the picturesque landscapes that influenced the French masters.  Enjoy a free evening in Paris.

 

Day 11...Paris:  A guided tour introduces you to the Paris.  Drive down the Champs-Elysees to view the Arc de Triomphe, pass Pont Neuf and Notre-Dame Cathedral located on an island in the Seine River, see the Eiffel Tower, the Opera House and Place de la Concorde, the city's grandest square.  Marvel at the iconic architecture of the Louvfre and Hotel des Invalides.   An Optional Excursion is offered with dinner and a Seine River Cruise.  *115 (I think doing dinner on our own and then doing the cruise on our own might be a better choice.)
 

Day 12...Free day in Paris:  Optional Excursion Versailles Palace $119*  (I am thinking we can get a pass to cover this along with other optionals...we will discuss this.     There is so much to see in Paris.  Some suggestions include:  Monmartre, La Chapelle, Arch de Triomphe, Napoleon's Tomb, the Opera House, Pompidou Center, and so much more.  Also of interest is the show at Moulin Rouge.  In the past I purchased tickets for those interested and we attended as a group.  This was a fun night.

Day 13...Paris Last Day free day in Paris....

Free day in Paris:  Optional Excursion Versailles Palace $119*  (I am thinking we can get a pass to cover this along with other optionals...we will discuss this.     This would be a good day to schedule a day trip outside of Paris.   Choices might include Normandy, Loire Valley or some area outside of Paris.
 

Day 14...Paris:  Return Home.
